Dear Skandabhaktare,
I am hereby mailing you the invitations of the much awaited "Punarprathiste" and "Brhamakalashotsva" rituals of our beloved "Lord Subramanya" to be held from 18th to 25th of this month. "Lord ullooru Subramanya
is Kuladevaru to so many people who have origin and roots from this
Ullooru Kandavara place belonging to Viswamithra Gotra probably since
the days of creation of Parashurama Kshethra .. Since then we
have moved far and wide and made our presence felt in every corner of
the world.But for his divine blessings and the great deeds of our
forefathers we wouldn't have come this far. The Lord's idol belongs to 8-9th century according to the noted historians. Now our beloved Skanda
has given blessings, inspirations and a great opportunity to our
present generation to rebuild his divine dwelling probably for the
first time since it was built xOne should realize that this "punarprathiste" is happening almost a gap of a millennium shows
the importance of this ceremony. This state of the art stone marvel
will certainly lasts for many test of times, hence, the next 10-20
generations may not get this rare and divine opportunity makes it this
function rare and unique one . So do not loose this once in a few
generations opportunity a miss and be there at least for a day .
Remember that whatever we have achieved in our respective fields is
only because of his blessings and of all the generations Lord Subramanya has
given this golden opportunity , inspiration and ability to us shows
his special likings and blessings for our generation . So let us act
together and be a part of this noble cause and make this function a
unique and memorable one .We can certainly make our future generations
to be proud of about our great deeds and which in turn motivate them to
follow in our footsteps to make this Ullooru a very rare
PunyaKshethra. .

You have mentioned “Kandavaradolagana – Ullura – Swamy Karthikeya” should it read “Kandavaradolagina=Kandavarada olagina-within Kandarava?. Thanks for digging up the likely place name of Kandavara. Basaruru was a port city probably from the 2nd century AD. I did not know that Hattiyangadi (present Kundapura?) was one of the earliest capitals of the Alupa kings. Alupa Chitravahana was the son in Law of Chalukya Vinayaditya and was crowned from Pombucchha and later during Santara time, it came to be known as Patti-Pombucchha, indicating Santaras may also have acquired Hattiyangadi from the Alupas. Humcha was known as Santalige-600 during Sanrata rulers. Any luck on Alupa ancestry ? I feel they are not Native Tuluvas-do you agree?
Inscription No.2 mentions tax exemption to the Udupa, so I deem you belong to this family of antiquity? Also you say: "For the first time we have here a dated inscription for the Tulu script. In lines 34 and 35 Tulu script has been used for mentioning the name of the god." It would have been helpful if you had posted a picture of this Inscription.
